SANTA MONICA, California — When Robert Pattinson was grazed by a moving taxicab recently, the news rocked legions of “Twilight” fans who feared for their favorite actor’s life. His series co-star Michael Welch, however, was surprised to hear the news when he sat down with MTV News on Tuesday.

“No,” marveled the actor, who plays Mike Newton in the films. “You are how I stay in touch with this stuff.”

Once we briefed Mike on the recent near-tragedy, the affable actor expressed concern for RPattz’s health — and a hope that the star’s skyrocketing fame crests soon.

As if Robert Pattinson getting hit and attacked this week weren’t enough, now we have Robsten haters attacking them—with suspicious pics conveniently added for that extra-special, fake drama touch. Yes, yes, we’ve seen the shot of Michael Angaranosupposedly leaving Kristen Stewart’s house after hanging out together. And we’re not making any big fuss over it for multiple reasons. For one, timing’s a little shaky. The pic was taken yesterday, and we have footage of Kristen arriving at Joan Jett’s hotel at 12 and staying until 6.

We don’t totally know the deal with Splash News, if they are a Radar reporting false Mikesten stories, but if their dish was totally accurate, what in the heck did they need to clear up? Something’s just a bit off here—and it’s not Michael’s blatant imitation of Rob. If you ask us, this screams staged, or just plain as desperate as it gets. Remind you of any wacky photos from the past?

‘He’s just such a great, easygoing guy,’ co-star Kellan Lutz says of the heartthrob.

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — A year ago at this time, a small independent film was shooting in Portland. It starred the little kid from “Panic Room,” the jerk from “Can’t Hardly Wait,” the best friend from “Thirteen” and the fast-talking girl from “Rocket Science.” It also featured a little-known actor, best remembered for playing Cedric Diggory in the “Harry Potter” films.

Now, “Twilight” is a worldwide phenomenon and actors like Kristen Stewart, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed and Anna Kendrick are all celebrating their recent big night at the MTV Movie Awards. But it’s hard to imagine any actor, ever, whose life has changed as dramatically in 12 months as Robert Pattinson’s.

When we spoke with them on the red carpet over the weekend, his “Twilight” saga co-stars told us that they’re as amazed by the transformation as they are impressed with how RPattz has handled it all.

Star takes a break from filming ‘New Moon’ in Vancouver.

“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson celebrated his 23rd birthday on Wednesday, surrounded by friends and family in Vancouver, where he is currently filming “New Moon.”

According to People.com, Pattinson was joined by Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Jamie Campbell Bower at the Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar. “Everyone enjoyed a hearty meal and had a good appetite,” an unidentified source told the Web site, saying they ate Kobe beef meatballs, lamb, steak, salads and roasted vegetables.

In addition to the meal, the group also dined on a selection of desserts, including cheesecake, chocolate coffee cake and white chocolate mousse. “There was a lot of buzz and energy in the restaurant,” said the source. “Being in the same restaurant as Rob Pattinson for his birthday is great.”

TWILIGHT heart-throb Robert Pattinson says the constant stream of leaked pictures of him in his younger years are embarrassing - and should be considered illegal.

Over the past few months, snapshots from his early career as a model, between the ages of 12 and 16, have appeared online and now childhood photos have appeared in an issue of Life & Style magazine.

Robert Pattinson’s How To Be is a heartbreaker (spoilers)

While I had no doubt that Robert Pattinson would bring to the world an interesting and complicated character in How To Be, I simply could not anticipate how clever, awkward, and frustrating the film (and the plight of its wayward and romantically lost character Art) would be.

Beginning with the most insipidly unusual and unforgivingly cold of familial circumstances, Art’s hopeless effort at making his place in the small world of those around him is devastating. Nearly deserving tears from your eyes, Art suffers an alienation and endlessness in struggle that leaves one bitter and completely sympathetic.

And Robert Pattinson, star of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Little Ashes, is the deliverer of that emotion.
