Twilight DVD Meant to Cause Midnight Madness

The best parties don’t get started until way past Twilight.

Summit Entertainment announced Tuesday that the teen-vampire romance will be available for your home-swooning pleasure March 21 in a two-disc, extras-laden, special-edition DVD set.

But the makers of Twilight don’t just want you walking into any old big-box store whenever. Those DVDs are gonna be ready at midnight sharp—on a Saturday. (DVDs usually drop on Tuesdays.)

What’s the Scoop on the Next Twilight Soundtrack?

The songs for New Moon haven’t been nailed down yet—the flick is still in preproduction after all—but do I have some gossip on the movie anyway? You bet.

First, some background. When it comes to Twilight’s soundtrack, you may credit legendary music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas, who has also curated the music for TV shows The OC, Roswell, Chuck, Mad Men and Without a Trace. Patsavas is also on board to supervise the sound for New Moon.

Lucy Hale Auditioned For Same ‘New Moon’ Role As Dakota Fanning ’I think they just offered it to Dakota,’ ‘Privileged’ star says, adding, ‘I’m definitely still going to see it!’

Believe it or not, there is another actress — in addition to Dakota Fanning — up for the part of Jane in “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.” That great distinction belongs to Lucy Hale, star of the CW’s ”Privileged.” She spoke about her auditions and her belief that, at this point, Fanning is a shoo-in for the role.

“Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning, the role I was interested in,” the teen told Twist magazine. “Which is great — I’m a huge fan of her! So I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it!”

Facinelli Is Pro-Fanning for ‘New Moon’

Even though actor Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in ‘Twilight,’ admits he hasn’t been keeping up with all the ’New Moon’ rumors, he is excited to hear that Dakota Fanning might be joining the cast as vampire Jane. “She is a phenomenal actress… [The role of Jane] would be great for her,” Facinelli exclusively told PopEater.

“I always think of her as this 12-year-old girl, but she is older now. What is she like 16 now?” he joked.

Asked by ET whether the rumors were true that she’d signed on for the ’Twilight’ sequel ‘New Moon,’ Dakota tells us: “I really hope that works out.  It would be interesting, really fun to be a part of. I’m a huge fan of all those actors.  So, it’s too soon to tell right now, but I really hope that it does happen.”

Very funny spoof of Twilight the movie.

 Add America Ferrera to the long list of actresses who are supposedly up for a role in the Twilight sequel New Moon.

Following in the footsteps of Vanessa Hudgens and Dakota Fanning, the 24-year-old Ugly Betty actress has reportedly auditioned for the movie.Ferrera tried out for the part of Emily Young, fiancée to Sam Uley and second cousin to Leah Clearwater.

 ‘Twilight’: If Dakota Fanning is Jane, who should be Alec?

With news that Dakota Fanning will meet with New Moon director Chris Weitz next week to formally discuss her being offered the role of vampire Jane in the Twilight sequel, it’s time for us to help Weitz find his Alec, Jane’s bloodsucker brother. According to the books, Alec is a pale boy (surprise) who could be Jane’s twin. “His hair was darker, and his lips were not as full, but he was just as lovely,” Stephenie Meyer writes in New Moon. Elijah Wood is a popular suggestion, small in stature, but I doubt that the man who starred in the Lord of the Rings trilogy would want to be backburner in a Twilight sequel. Then again, if Weitz (or the director of any future Twilight sequels) wanted to go off-book and flesh out the fascinating Volturi and their guard with Meyer’s approval, I don’t think anyone would mind. (Right?) Also, what is Elijah Wood doing these days?

 Dakota Fanning…with fangs?

It’s possible. I can exclusively report that the 14-year-old child star—she turns 15 on Feb. 23—is in talks to play Jane opposite Robert Pattinson & Co. in New Moon, the upcoming sequel to box office megahit Twilight.

“There were no auditions,” a source reveals. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going backand forth.”

Jane is a member of Italy’s Volturi, the most deadly group of bloodsucking killers in author Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series.
