Deadbolt:How Will Taylor Lautner Become Jacob Black In ‘New Moon’

How Will Taylor Lautner Become Jacob Black in New Moon?

by Nadya Vlassoff

[SPOILER Disclaimer: If you haven't read New Moon, the second book in the Twilight saga, and don't know story or character details, and don't wait to know before the film hits theaters, we urge you to back out now. Don't say we didn't warn you.]

With casting still underway on New Moon, the second film adaptation in the Stephenie Meyer Twilight Saga, one of the major characters of the story, Jacob Black, played by young actor Taylor Lautner in the first film, returns in expanded capacity for the second Twilight movie. In New Moon the role of Jacob Black becomes much more important as Lautner’s character evolves not only in physical form but emotionally as well. Although Taylor Lautner and Jacob factored into Twilight in the midst of the relationship between the Edward and Bella characters of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Lautner will need to dig much deeper to become Jacob Black for New Moon..

MTV: Robert Pattinson Post ‘Twilight’

What’s In Store For Robert Pattinson’s Post-’Twilight’ Future? ’I'm not looking specifically at any genre,’ star says of his script selection.

By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

HOLLYWOOD— There was a time when it seemed like Paul Walker was the next big thing — before he gave us “Timeline,” “Into the Blue” and ”Running Scared.” Remember when Jon Heder seemed like the biggest star in the world, right before “Just like Heaven,” “School for Scoundrels” and “Mama’s Boy”? And then there was that Matt Damon guy, another overnight sensation who then went and made a bunch of “Bourne” and ”Ocean’s” movies.

OK, so things worked out for that last guy. The point is that when you’re hot and new in Hollywood, you not only have to act fast — you have to act in good movies. And right now, there’s nobody hotter than ”Twilight” star Robert Pattinson. So, what’s he going to do next?

Stephanie Meyer Featured in Vogue Magazine

How did a suburban mother of three become the next big thing in publishing with her chaste-but-erotic Twilight series? Robert Sullivan meets Stephenie Meyer.

She may prefer to write late at night while her family sleeps, but for the record, there is not a lot about Stephenie Meyer, author of the better-than-best-selling Twilight series, that screams vampire. Yes, she has long dark hair and earthy brown eyes, casually highlighted thisafternoon at her home in Arizona by a black Banana Republic cashmere sweater and jeans, but she lacks the arrogance associated with vampireness. Her vibe is homey; she sits you down on her living-room couch, one leg curled up under her, and starts talking as if you had been in the midst of conversation for years. She’s surrounded by her sons’ toys, games, and compasses (her husband is a Cubmaster), as well as her work—her office is in the front hall. There are family photos and a few paintings of the Washington coast, where Twilight takes place. The Phoenix neighborhood where she lives, a kind of desert suburb, is the opposite of the Washington coast, and lately she and her husband have been taking their three boys (ages six, eight, and eleven) on vacation to the Seattle area once in a while, to see green. “It’s nice to show them that there are places where things are alive,” she says.

MTV: Kristen Stewart Says Robert Pattinson Rumors Are False

‘Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart Says Robert Pattinson Romance Rumors Are ‘Totally False’

‘Rob and I are good friends,’ actress says.

By Jocelyn Vena

In “Twilight,” Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had so much chemistry onscreen that many think their torrid love affair did not end when the director yelled “cut.” However, Stewart insists that she and Pattinson are no real-life Edward and Bella.

“It’s just totally false … Rob and I are good friends,” she told Nylon. “We went through a lot together, so we feel very close. But if we go out in public, every little detail is scrutinized, like the way I stand next to him.”

MTV: ‘New Moon’ Official Art and Title Revealed!

‘Twilight’ Exclusive: ‘New Moon’ Art And Official Title Revealed!

Published by Larry Carroll

As Juliet once said to Romeo: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Now, modern-day star crossed lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are getting ready to carry on with their cinematic love affair. But will the second “Twilight” movie smell as sweet now that it has a brand-new name?

MTV News has the scoop on the official name and logo for Chris Weitz’s soon-to-film sequel to “Twilight.” Dubbed “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” (although the title treatment leaves off the “’s”) the film’s official title art stays true to the look of the first movie while swapping in an orange tint, a subtle crescent moon, and the release date of 11.20.09.

AH: Rachel Lefevre Spills ‘New Moon’ Secrets

SANTA MONICA, Calif. –

Rachel Lefevre is not a big Hollywood star yet. In fact, the 2009 Independent Spirit Awards are her first awards show ever. And she told Access Hollywood’s Dish of Salt, Laura Saltman, that she adheres closely to a piece of advice that she once heard from George Clooney; “Never go to an awards show, unless you’re invited.”

Rachel has heard all of the “New Moon” rumors that we’ve all heard – about Dakota Fanning, AnnaLynne McCord, Vanessa Hudgens and Madonna. And about the Madonna rumor she says, “I’ve heard that one too. And if I saw her, I’d march right up to her and shake her and say, ‘We’re in the same project!’”
