MTV: Jackson Rathbone Injured On ‘Eclipse’ Set

Film’s rep says actor who plays Jasper Hale is fine and already back at work.

By Jocelyn Vena

Apparently Ashley Greene isn’t the only “Eclipse” cast member getting hurt on set. Her onscreen love, Jackson Rathbone, was also injured on the set of the David Slade-helmed flick earlier this week. Although he was taken to the hospital, he was able to get back to work shortly after being injured.

No word on just how he injured himself, but according to a statement from a rep for the film, he’s doing fine now. “Actor Jackson Rathbone of ‘The Twilight Saga’ movies was slightly injured yesterday [September 22] during a fight scene rehearsal,” the rep told Access Hollywood. “As a precaution, he was driven to the hospital and checked out by a doctor. He’s fine and is back at work on the set of ‘Eclipse’ today.”

Earlier this month, Greene dished to MTV News about the intense training for some of the series’ most violent scenes. “We’re getting battered and bruised, but it’s good, though,” she said. “We’re kind of just getting into it. All the battle and fight stuff is going to happen next month.”

MTV: Michael Sheen Calls His ‘New Moon’ Character ‘Gentle On The Surface’

‘But beneath, he is a psychopathic killer,’ says the actor, who plays Volturi leader Aro.

By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

In the “Twilight” universe, there’s no shortage of father figures. For tough, fair and loving, you have Bella’s dad, Charlie Swan. For a slightly better-looking, cooler paternal icon, there’s Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Now, Twilighters have a new one in 40-year-old veteran actor Michael Sheen.

We know that Sheen’s Aro isn’t technically the “father” of the Volturi clan, but in many ways, the star took his role as elder statesman on both sides of the camera very seriously. Recently, we caught up with the star of “Kingdom of Heaven,” “The Queen” and “Blood Diamond” to get his thoughts on the “Twilight” family, a “scary as hell” Dakota Fanning and all that RPattz insanity.

MTV: ‘Eclipse’ Will Have David Slade’s ‘Darker Sensibility,’ Screenwriter Says

‘Twilight’ scribe Melissa Rosenberg confirms that the director is putting his own stamp on the franchise.

By Jocelyn Vena

If Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg can spill anything about what fans can expect from “Eclipse,” it’s that they can expect it to be dark and gory. And for fans of director David Slade, not to mention people who’ve read “Eclipse,” this should be completely unsurprising.

“David has a darker sensibility, so it clicks,” Rosenberg told E! Online. “The story has a slightly darker tone. I mean, it goes into a full-out battle, so it is darker in the nature of what it is. David was the perfect director for it.”

Slade, who follows Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke in the director’s chair for the franchise, may be putting his slant on the story, but fans will still find common ground between “Eclipse” and the other two flicks already shot in the “Twilight Saga.” “They have the continuity of having the same writers and same actors, but the directors put their own stamp on it,” Rosenberg added. “They’ll be similar, but very different.”

Rosenberg’s comments about the film echo what stars Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner have shared with MTV News about what the “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night” director has in mind for “Eclipse.”

Yahoo Movies: ‘New Moon’ Tickets Are Selling Out Already

Want to be in the audience of the very first midnight screenings of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”? You may have already missed your chance.

Advance tickets for the much-anticipated sequel went on sale a week ago, and shows are already selling out. Even the websites where early tickets can be purchased are getting surprised by the rush of sales. Joel Cohen, Executive Vice President of MovieTickets.com said, “We expected ‘New Moon’ to be hugely popular when tickets went on sale… but seeing sellouts nine weeks prior to its release is unheard of.” According to their data, 26% of sales at MovieTickets.com were for “New Moon,” with 17 shows already sold out completely. Fandango.com also reported that “New Moon” accounted for a higher percentage of ticket sales than any movie that opened last Friday.

MTV: ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack: A Quick Guide To Its Lesser-Known Artists

Acts like Lykke Li, Hurricane Bells, Sea Wolf and Band of Skulls are featured on album.

By Gil Kaufman

Anyone who knows anything about “Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer knows that the vampire-spawning writer has eclectic taste in music. Earlier this year, she blogged about what she did all summer, which included listening to bands you may or may not know like Meese and White Rabbits, as well as some you might, like Muse, Animal Collective and Silversun Pickups.

She’s posted suggested playlists for fans of her book series that includes everything from Placebo, Blue October and Armor for Sleep to Elbow, Coldplay, Patrick Wolf, Simon and Garfunkel, Korn, Incubus, Nine Inch Nails and Right Said Fred.

On Monday, the track listing for the upcoming soundtrack to “New Moon” was revealed and it has the same mix of the popular and somewhat-obscure that fans have come to expect from Meyer. The 15 all-new or exclusive tracks feature some of the names that have been kicking around for a while, such as Muse, who refashioned the baroque “I Belong To You” from their new album, The Resistance at director Chris Weitz’s behest and Death Cab for Cutie, whose “Meet Me On The Equinox” debuted on MTV.com recently.

Other big names include the Killers (”A White Demon Love Song”), Radiohead’s Thom Yorke (”Hearing Damage”) and viral video sensations OK Go (”Shooting the Moon”). But there are also a number of acts whose names you might not recognize, so here’s a quick primer:

MTV: ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack Line Announced: Killers, Thome Yorke And More

Album from second ‘Twilight’ film also includes Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, Lykke Li and more.

By Eric Ditzian

On Monday morning, MTV News reported that “Twilight” fav band Muse would be contributing a remixed version of the song “I Belong to You,” from their new album, The Resistance, for the upcoming “New Moon” soundtrack. Just hours later, “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer released the album’s full track listing on her Web site.

The soundtrack will include 15 songs, most from artists new to this vampire universe. Paramore, which contributed two songs to the film’s first soundtrack, will not appear this time around. Thom Yorke of Radiohead, which had a song in the “Twilight” movie but not on the soundtrack, will have one song on the new disc. And while star Robert Pattinson recorded a song for “Twilight,” he does not have a song on the “New Moon” album. All of the music is original and exclusive to the “New Moon” soundtrack, which was not the case with the first album.

While Grizzly Bear is the only artist to appear on the soundtrack from a list of artists Meyer recently blogged that she’s been listening to, the album certainly seems in line with her tastes.

Twilight Examiner: Justin Chon Talks ‘Eclipse’, David Slade Tweets, And Edi Gathegi Makes The Cover Of Fangoria

A couple of updates from The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have been making waves today.

Twilight ExaminerAmanda Bell

Firstly, actor Justin Chon (who portrays, Eric Yorkie, a “human” in the Twilight series) had an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin, where he talked about Eclipse and director David Slade. According to that interview, Chon expects that the entire film will tend toward a darker side - an opinion with which his co-stars Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene have also agreed - because of the change in “mood” and process during this time around in filming.

David Slade, on the other hand, has been keeping his tweets a bit light and frothy over the past few months, and last night’s was no exception.
