MTV:’Eclipse’ Trailer To Premiere Before ‘Remember Me’

‘Twilight’ fans will get to see the trailer when Robert Pattinson’s latest flick hits theaters March 12.

By Terri Schwartz

With the exception of an unrevealing promotional poster and a couple of (official) stills, Summit Entertainment has let fan hype create the majority of the buzz for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which comes out on June 30. Now, three months after the release of “New Moon,” the series’ official Twitter revealed that the first “Eclipse” trailer will debut in theaters on March 12 before screenings of “Remember Me.”

The debut continues a trend of RPattz cross promotion that began when the trailer for “Remember Me” debuted before the November release of “New Moon.” Summit seems to be hoping the magic hype circle will work again, drawing “Twilight” fans to the theater to see Pattinson romance Emilie de Ravin and to catch their first glimpse of the third movie (unless, of course, it leaks onto the Internet ahead of time).

MTV:Kristen Stewart Says ‘Breaking Dawn’ ‘Absolutely Warrants’ Two Films

‘It would be much more satisfying to do [two films], because we wouldn’t have to drop so much of the story,’ she tells MTV News.

EVERLY HILLS, California — We’ve all been there: School is coming to an end, it’s time to graduate and the half of you who can’t wait to leave is doing battle with the half who will miss it.

These days, the “Twilight Saga” stars are grappling with similar feelings, looking at the end of a three-year process that has had them all go from little-knowns to household names together. So how does Kristen Stewart feel about the possibility of double “Breaking Dawn” movies that would keep their franchise in session a little bit longer?

“I am down. I wanna do it,” Stewart said of the increasingly real possibility that Stephenie Meyer’s final novel will be split into two films, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”-style. “I understand why they’d wanna do it.”

In the minds of some, Stewart and Robert Pattinson are talented actors in good positions to move past the “Twilight” franchise and onto other projects. To Twilighters, however, the longer this now A-list cast (including Oscar-nominated Anna Kendrick, “SNL” host Taylor Lautner, magazine cover girl Ashley Greene, etc.) can stay together, the better.

MTV:’Breaking Dawn’ To Become Two Films? Not Yet, Says Studio

‘Breaking Dawn’ To Become Two Films? Not Yet, Says Studio
While reports on the Web say the final ‘Twilight’ installment will be two movies, the studio is staying mum.

It’s something Harry Potter has blazed the trail for, “Twilight” fans have suspected for quite some time and several of the franchise’s stars seem eager about. Now, it seems, the word may finally be official: “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two movies.

The news was reported Thursday (February 11) by Deadline Hollywood, although it should be pointed out that many news outlets have “announced” the same fact over the last few months, all apparently premature.

“No decision has been made,” a representative for Summit Entertainment told MTV News after the Deadline Hollywood story ran. “As we have said all along, we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring ‘Breaking Dawn’ to the big screen.”

“I have this from several sources and it’s definitive,” the Web site insists. ” ‘Breaking Dawn’ is the longest in Stephenie Meyer’s four-book series lengthwise and it’s the most graphic — presenting birth, attempted murder, death and of course vampire bites. … Summit Entertainment no doubt could save money by making these ‘Twilight’ Saga movies #4 and #5 back to back and is currently looking for director or directors to helm both features.”

MTV: Will ‘Breaking Dawn’ Ne Two Films? ‘Not My Call’, Anna Kendrick Says

Anna Kendrick on the 2010 Critics' Choice Awards red carpetOn the Critics’ Choice red carpet, ‘Up in the Air’ actress also fills us in on upcoming Seth Rogen film ‘I’m With Cancer.’

By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

My, how little Anna Kendrick has grown!

The first time we spotted her was years ago, when she made a splash at Sundance with the indie film “Rocket Science.” In the time since, we’ve enjoyed her as Bella Swan’s fast-talking friend Jessica Stanley. And now, at still only 24 years old, Kendrick is an awards-season juggernaut with her new movie “Up in the Air,” showing up on another red carpet at Friday’s (January 15) Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

And, naturally, she had a lot to talk about. Like “Breaking Dawn,” the final novel in the “Twilight” series. Depending on whom you speak with, Stephenie Meyer’s last Bella and Edward book will either be split into two films or remain intact.

“If it is [split], great. If it’s not, great,” Kendrick insisted, saying it’s not that she doesn’t care, but that she has no control over the situation. “I understand why they would want to do that, but it’s not my call.

“I find out when the fans find out. That’s true,” she laughed when asked when she expects to be briefed on how “Breaking Dawn” will be shot. “You will find out before I find out, actually. Text me.

PROnetworks: Summit on Breaking Dawn: No decision on how many films, “don’t think” Weitz directs

Among the many topics discussed here on this blog, and especially on my Twitter, are questions about The Twilight Saga. More specifically, “what’s the deal with Breaking Dawn?” I’ve avoided saying too much here because most of the information being posted (leaked) has been nothing but rumors and speculation. But thanks to the astute Los Angeles Times’ writer Gina McIntyre, we may have some bonafide facts.

Let’s get right to the bottom line: McIntyre spoke directly with the film’s producer Wyck Godfrey, who is stating publicly that no decision has yet been made as to whether or not the Breaking Dawn novel will be split into two scripts (and two movies) or one. But we’ve heard that before. What is news, though, is that he is all but confirming that New Moon director Chris Weitz will NOT be back to helm Breaking Dawn, one film or two. He’s also confirming that the three stars are on board and the plan is to begin shooting this fall in Vancouver.

“I think everyone would be happy and excited if he came back, but I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Godfrey told The Times. “But right now we’re just focused on the treatment and getting that right. At that point, we’re going to see who’s available and who’s appropriate. It’s such a complicated book because you have the emotions and the intensity of the love story — so you need somebody who’s just a wonderful director of actors — and yet it’s really complicated from an action and visual effects standpoint. They’ve got to have both tools in their kit.”

MTV:’Eclipse’ Star Kirsten Prout Discusses Her ‘Really Dark’ Role

Kristen ProutI’ve never played a villain in my entire career,’ ‘Twilight’ newcomer explains.

By Jocelyn Vena

While fans eagerly await the June release of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” one of the film’s stars, Kirsten Prout, is opening up about joining the cast for the third film in the franchise. She plays Lucy in the film, the vampire who turns Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) into a vampire. And she says she enjoyed getting to embrace her inner bad girl for the film.

“I’ve always been on the good side. I’ve never played a villain in my entire career. I’m the girl next door, or the girl who helps out, or the girl that makes an innocent escape. For once, I got to look all innocent and have that angelic quality, and then, all of a sudden, turn into something really dark,” Prout, who starred on the TV series “Kyle XY,” told Iesb.net. “That was fun for me. That was the first villain that I’ve ever played.”

Like Rathbone’s onscreen sister, Rosalie, played by Nikki Reed, Prout gets in on the backstory action in the movie as well. “Without revealing too much, Lucy is one of the vampires that turns Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone. Jasper gets turned while he is an officer, and I’m one of the vampires that causes Jasper to be turned during his military career,” Prout added. “Lucy appears to be an innocent little victim, and then she turns into something a lot more sinister.”

MTV: ‘Eclipse’ Screening Rumors Aren’t True Studio Says

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"A studio rep tells MTV News there were no previews of the third ‘Twilight Saga’ film over the weekend.

By Jocelyn Vena

After news spread that Summit Entertainment was holding “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” test screenings over the weekend, testimonials began to appear online from fans who had the chance to see the flick. The only problem? There was no test screening, so the testimonials were anything but accurate.

A source close to the “Eclipse” production told GossipCop.com that rumors of the screening are “absolutely not true.” Also, any testimonials being published online on sites like Alex’s Memories are equally untrue. The source said specifics around any trailers and screenings for the flick have yet to be announced.

“There is absolutely no merit to this claim,” a Summit Entertainment rep confirmed to MTV News about reports of the screenings. “We noticed it over the holiday on multiple message boards and sites, and it appears that some of this was spam.”

OK! Magazine: Twilight Saga: New Moon’s Charlie Bewley Says ‘Eclipse’ Will Be ‘Dark And Vicious’

Twilight star Charlie Bewley speaks to NIKKI BARR about just how different the third film, Eclipse, will be

NEW Moon star Charlie Bewley says the third film in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, is going to be very dark.

Charlie Bewley, who plays Volturi vampire Demetri in Twilight Saga: New Moonand Eclipse, says the next installment is set to be very different than the first two films.

Speaking exclusively to OK.co.uk, Charlie revealed that director David Slade is going to add a nasty tone to the vampire love story.

He told us: “David is a master of mood. Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious. You get to see the brutal nature of vampires and what they are really capable of, which is something we haven’t really seen in the first two movies.”

And the star told us David works very differently to New Moon director Chris Weitz.

He said: “They are very different directors. David understands what each scene needs [to create the dark mood] – absolute fine tuning. He might stop the scene halfway through and just tweak something before saying: ‘Go back, say that word again and I want you to put the emphasis on that’.

“It’s very controlled and when I was on set I found myself not being able to be as theatrically elaborate as I was with Chris’ film. But that’s exactly why David has been brought on board - to make this a more real film. Eclipse is going to be more real.”

But Charlie says Chris was happy to let the stars develop the characters themselves while filming New Moon.

He added: “Chris is someone who is massively organised in his work and he is meticulous in his preparation towards something, purely because the stuff he does is on such a grand scale and it was with New Moon.

“He scouted out Montepulciano [the village in Tuscany used for the clock tower scene in New Moon], they visited every single village in Italy to find out the best place to shoot this thing and they got it just right.

MTV: Bryce Dallas Howard Promises A ‘Juicy’ Bloodsucker In ‘Eclipse’

Bryce Dallas HowardIt ends with quite a huge battle, a big spectacle, and it’s very scary,’ actress says of third ‘Twilight’ film.

By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Jeff Cornell and Eric Ditzian

BEVERLY HILLS, California — Last summer the proverbial something hit the fans when beloved “Twilight” star Rachelle Lefevre was shockingly dropped from the series, Golden Globe nominee Bryce Dallas Howard was announced as her replacement, and a real-life story line, as dramatic as anything in Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novels, erupted. But as the months have gone by, Lefevre has moved on to other gigs, Howard has received favorable reports from her new co-stars, and “New Moon” made a boatload of money.

On June 30, “Eclipse” brings the “Twilight Saga” back to the big screen with plenty of familiar faces, but a new one for Victoria. And when we caught up with 28-year-old beauty Howard, who stars in the new drama “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” she told us that she couldn’t wait to unveil her take on Meyer’s villainous vamp.
