People: Kristen Stewart: Taylor Lautner Grew Up During ‘New Moon’

Kristen Stewart: Taylor Lautner Grew Up During New Moon

By Michael Y. Park

Taylor Lautner’s transformation from human to wolf wasn’t the most impressive change that came over him for New Moon, according to Kristen Stewart – even more astounding was the way the 17-year-old went from skinny teen to hunky sex symbol for his role.

“He’s literally become a different person. He’s just grown up,” Stewart, 19, said at a recent press conference to promote New Moon. “He’s so confident and the nicest guy that I’ve ever met. I know that I’m using this grammatically incorrect but he’s the funnest guy I’ve ever hung out with. So he’s great. I’m so proud of him.”

Lautner credits his routine of five days a week at the gym – and a gut-busting 3,200-calorie daily diet – with getting him in werewolf shape.

EW.com: ‘New Moon’ Team Edward or Team Jacob Debate Continues

New Moon’: Team Edward or Team Jacob debate continues

by Mandi Bierly

Sometimes it’s hard to be a celebrity. November 2009 is one of them. Chances are, stars will, at some point this month, be asked if they’re on Team Edward or Team Jacob. I myself asked The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder to enter the debate recently during a Pop Culture Personality Test interview (so totally legit line of questioning!), and having never read the books or seen the first film, he was unable to choose a side.

Yahoo News: New Star Taylor Lautner Rises In ‘New Moon’

New star Taylor Lautner rises in “New Moon”

By Alex Dobuzinski

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Women swooned for Robert Pattinson as vampire Edward Cullen in last year’s hit movie romance “Twilight,” but in its upcoming sequel Taylor Lautner, who almost didn’t make it into the film, is the newest hunk for fan’s to feast on.

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” rises in theaters on November 20 as one of the most-anticipated movies early in Hollywood’s holiday season. Predecessor “Twilight” made $384 million at worldwide box offices in 2008, and its young principal actors, Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, shot to overnight stardom.

But in “New Moon,” the second romance about the netherworld adventures of teenager Bella Swan (Stewart) and the love of her life Cullen, it is Lautner who grabs the spotlight.

He portrays American werewolf Jacob Black, Swan’s protector when Cullen leaves her to go to Italy. Black’s devotion to Swan has earned him — and that means Lautner, too — the devotion of millions of young girls obsessed with author Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” books on which the movies are based.

“We have fans all the time that will just burst into tears, it’s just moving,” he said. “It must mean so much for them to meet us, and it’s an amazing feeling to know that you can touch someone in that way.”

Prior to “Twilight,” the 17-year-old Lautner was best known for his starring role in 2005 children’s film “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.” And in 2008’s hit vampire film, the Jacob Black role was a small one as Swan’s childhood friend. So, Lautner is relatively new to the stardom “New Moon” is bringing, and the teenager seems to be enjoying it.

MTV: Kristen Stewart ‘Can’t Tell A Difference Between Herself and Bella Swan

‘I’m used to playing really distinct characters that are so far away from my normal reality,’ Stewart says.

By Eric Ditzian

With the end of principal photography on “Eclipse” in Vancouver late last month, Kristen Stewart completed her third “Twilight” series film as Bella Swan, the high school girl who falls hard for a vampire. Even before starting “Eclipse,” though— at the very beginning of “New Moon,” in fact, the second film in the franchise — the 19-year-old actress felt so comfortable playing the character that she had a hard time separating herself from Bella.

“I feel very much like I can’t really tell a huge difference between myself and Bella anymore, as odd as that sounds,” she admitted in an interview released by Summit Entertainment. “I’m used to playing really distinct characters that are so far away from my normal reality and in this case, the only thing that I was really worried about was just making sure it was absolutely honest and open and vulnerable and very present.”
