MTV: Ashley Greene Gives Her Thoughts On Possible ‘Breaking Dawn’ Directors

Ashley GreeneI think we’d be very happy with all of them,’ she says of the roster.

By Larry Carroll

SAUGUS, California — Less than a month after Kristen Stewart confirmed to us the three leading candidates to direct “Breaking Dawn,” word has leaked that “Dreamgirls” filmmaker Bill Condon may have emerged as Summit Entertainment’s top choice for the final “Twilight” tale.

As Twilighters continue to hold their breath in anticipation of a big announcement likely to come soon, we spoke with another Stephenie Meyer fan who has a more personal stake in the decision: The lovely and talented Ashley Greene. Hard at work these days filming her first starring role in the supernatural thriller “The Apparition,” the woman sometimes known as Alice Cullen took a break from shooting to give us her breakdown of the big three “Breaking Dawn” candidates.

“They didn’t get to where they are by making mediocre, boring films,” Ashley said of her excitement over the names. “I think they would all bring incredible elements to the films, and that’s what I think we’ve been doing the whole time. You’ve seen such a difference between Catherine [Hardwicke], and then we went to Chris Weitz and then David Slade, and it’s progressively getting a little darker.

“They are all incredible directors,” she added. “I think we’d be very happy with all of them.”

MTV: Splitting ‘Breaking Dawn’ Into Two Films Is Ok By Ashley Greene

Ashley Greene‘There’s so many different kinds of intertwining stories,’ the ‘Twilight’ star says of the saga’s final book.

By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

One movie or two? That seems to be the big “Twilight” question these days for fans, who await a resolution to the unsettled matter whether “Breaking Dawn,” the final volume in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire book series, will be split into two parts for the big screen.

The franchise’s stars have weighed in on the debate too. Kristen Stewart told MTV News she’s keen for a two-picture finale. Nikki Reed said she’d also love the chance to take part in two films. Peter Facinelli thinks the idea would be “fantastic.” And now Ashley Greene has offered her opinion.

“I wouldn’t mind seeing it split up because the book is huge, and there’s so much that’s involved, and there’s so many different kinds of intertwining stories,” she told MTV News at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.

“The problem with changing books into film is that you don’t have time to tell this intricate story that you do in 700 pages of a book,” she added. “I don’t think it could hurt.”

MTV: ‘Twilight’ Stars Weigh In On What They Want For ‘Breaking Dawn’

Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and others talk about splitting the book into two movies, who should direct and more.

By Jocelyn Vena

With the box-office success of “New Moon” and fans eagerly anticipating the June release of “Eclipse,” it looks almost certain that “Breaking Dawn,” the final book in the “Twilight Saga,” will hit the big screen. But there are two big questions surrounding the potential film: Who will direct it, and will it be split into two movies?

MTV News spoke with the “Twilight” stars last week at a New York screening of “New Moon” and asked them to weigh in on the saga’s future.

“If I had a wish list, Gus van Sant would be pretty cool,” Peter Facinelli said, mirroring Robert Pattinson’s director pick. “I just think he’d be an interesting choice for it. I mean, ‘Milk’ was phenomenal. I would just love to see ‘Breaking Dawn’ done, because I’d like to finish the whole chapter.”

By Jocelyn Vena

Fans will have to wait until November 20 to see “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” when it opens in theaters, but star Ashley Greene revealed that she’s already seen it and loves the film.

“The first one is very much a love story, and this one is kind of more about heartbreak and healing, and … the wolves come in and there’s that threat, that danger,” Greene told People over the weekend when she hosted the Yelloween party at Tao Las Vegas dressed as a peacock. “I actually saw the movie about two months ago, and it’s really good.”

MTV: ‘Eclipse’ Will Have David Slade’s ‘Darker Sensibility,’ Screenwriter Says

‘Twilight’ scribe Melissa Rosenberg confirms that the director is putting his own stamp on the franchise.

By Jocelyn Vena

If Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg can spill anything about what fans can expect from “Eclipse,” it’s that they can expect it to be dark and gory. And for fans of director David Slade, not to mention people who’ve read “Eclipse,” this should be completely unsurprising.

“David has a darker sensibility, so it clicks,” Rosenberg told E! Online. “The story has a slightly darker tone. I mean, it goes into a full-out battle, so it is darker in the nature of what it is. David was the perfect director for it.”

Slade, who follows Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke in the director’s chair for the franchise, may be putting his slant on the story, but fans will still find common ground between “Eclipse” and the other two flicks already shot in the “Twilight Saga.” “They have the continuity of having the same writers and same actors, but the directors put their own stamp on it,” Rosenberg added. “They’ll be similar, but very different.”

Rosenberg’s comments about the film echo what stars Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner have shared with MTV News about what the “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night” director has in mind for “Eclipse.”

MTV: Ashley Greene Gets Battered And Bruised On Eclipse Set

‘We’re all working really hard and learning how to kick butt,’ ‘Twilight’ star says.

By Jocelyn Vena

Ashley Greene is getting her action star on for the third installment of the “Twilight” saga. For “Eclipse,” the actress who plays Alice Cullen promises that the group is hard at work to ensure that the book’s famous vampire battle is going to translate big when it hits the screen next year.

“We’re getting battered and bruised, but it’s good, though,” she told MTV News. “We’re kind of just getting into it. All the battle and fight stuff is going to happen next month.”

The actress, who recently signed on to be MTV News’ VMA preshow fashion correspondent, assured fans that if you see pictures of her all black-and-blue, there’s no need to worry for her well-being.

By Larry Carroll

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — After months of watching everyone else take home the accolades, “Twilight” saga star Ashley Greene had an extra bounce in her step Sunday night, when she attended the Teen Choice Awards. When we caught up with the 22-year-old beauty on the red carpet, she was eager to talk about getting some recognition — and the work in “New Moon” that seems certain to raise her profile even higher.

“[The only thing I've been nominated for until now] is just ensemble,” Greene said. “Oh my gosh, it’s so cool. I got the phone call, and I was like, ‘Are you serious?’ It’s exciting.”
