Fans of Jacob and Bella are especially excited for the third film: ‘They kiss in it!’

The stars of “Twilight” can’t wait for fans to see the saga’s third film, “Eclipse,” and with more than six months until the film is released, Twilighters are already salivating to see what happens next for Bella, Jacob and Edward on the big screen.

“I didn’t know if ['New Moon'] was going to be any good, where I feel like ‘Eclipse’ is going to be epic,” Jordana de la Cruz gushed to MTV News after catching “New Moon” on opening night. “And they kiss in it, Jacob and Bella!”

It isn’t just taking the love triangle to the next level that entices fans, but also the book’s whirlwind ending.

After being seen embracing Kristen Stewart’s Bella in his arms, Robert Pattinson’s Edward shares an intense stare with the mortal beauty in newly-released still of ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’.

A high-quality still from “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” has been unleashed by Summit Entertainment. The newly-released photo captures the major characters, Kristen Stewart’s Bella and Robert Pattinson’s Edward staring intensely at each other. Before making its rounds online, it was released in the pages of People Magazine’s most recent issue.

This picture came out hours after the collectible posters of “New Moon” were found. The collectible posters, according to Zap2It, are officially licensed collectibles from the National Entertainment Collectibles Association. Two of them present individual shot of Edward, and one of Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black. The other one exposes Bella in Edward’s arms.

‘It’s not tough when you’re working with someone like this,’ Taylor Lautner says after receiving a joke kiss from co-star Kristen Stewart.

SAN DIEGO — It isn’t often that, right in the middle of an interview, one of the subjects will suddenly lean over and nearly give the other one a full-on, passionate kiss. But when we caught up with “Twilight” saga stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner recently at Comic-Con, love was in the air.

As thousands of Twilighters walked around the Con wearing Burger King crowns that showed their support for either Team Edward or Team Jacob, 17-year-old Lautner knew the pressure was on. Not even a year ago, Robert Pattinson and Kristen created a rare chemistry that made them superstars, as they mixed their youthful good looks with the sort of classic romance that made the grandparents of their fans swoon over Bogey and Bacall, Tracy and Hepburn or Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. Now he was in San Diego to convince fans that he could accomplish the same feat for “New Moon.”

“It’s not tough when you’re working with someone like this,” Lautner insisted, moments after KStew responded to the chemistry question by leaning over and fake-kissing the hunky actor who packed on more than 30 pounds of muscle for the sequel. “[Stewart] is extremely talented.”

Summit Entertainment Unleashes Twilight Saga Teaser Poster for New Moon

Okay, Twilight fans, here it is. A heavy dose of New Moon just hit our inbox, as the official teaser one-sheet for The Twilight Saga: New Moon has made its long awaited debut thanks to Summit Entertainment. For all of you Twilight Saga fans who have been toiling away at your own concept artwork for the Twilight sequel, you can finally close Photoshop and gaze into the eyes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, as Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black stand together in the shadowy New Moon woods underneath a bright but forboding moon peeking through the clouds.

Although Kristen Stewart looks content as Bella on the arm of a defensive Taylor Lautner and Jacob, there is a visible sign of pain on the face of Robert Pattinson as Edward who has turned his back on Twilight love.

‘Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart Will Cliff-Dive In ‘New Moon’ — With CGI Help ’I get to almost jump, and then no,’ actress says of doing her own stunt.

BEVERLY HILLS, California — As originally imagined by author Stephenie Meyer, Bella Swan is a diamond in the rough. We’ve seen her trip and fall, we’ve seen her battle her own antisocial behavior and we’ve seen her fall heart-and-soul into a most unusual romance. But now, as filming for “New Moon” gets underway, director Chris Weitz is planning to show us Bella as we’ve never seen her before.

“I had to go in and do a head-scan the other day,” Kristen Stewart revealed to MTV News over the weekend, discussing a recent Vancouver appointment to create a computer-generated doppelgänger for a key ”New Moon” scene.

The body’s not even cold on the first “Twilight” movie, but producers have already hired a newdirector, Chris Weitz, for “New Moon” and lotted the release date for the sequel.

The second movie based on the vampire series by Stephenie Meyer will hit theaters on November 20, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Perhaps they’re superstitious, but that’s almost exactly a year to the
day after “Twilight” opened.

“Same time, same place,” said Richie Fay, the distribution head for Summit Entertainment. “If it’s also the same gross, we’ll be very pleased. Hopefully, we’ll have even better results.”

Los Angeles, CA, December 13, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that filmmaker Chris Weitz has been hired to direct the second film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise. The film, NEW MOON, is
based on the second book in author Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production.

Weitz, an Acadamy Award®-nominated writer, director and producer, has a proven track record working with a broad range of material dealing with youth-oriented characters, fantasy and action. As such, he has the potential to bring alive in NEW MOON the dimensions and depth that fans will demand in the next installment.

Feig stated, “We love Stephenie Meyer’s fantastic TWILIGHT series. Thinking long and hard about how to turn NEW MOON into the amazing movie we know it will be, and working with Stephenie Meyer to find the right candidate, we are thrilled to announce Chris Weitz as director of the film. Chris very much understands the world of NEW MOON and has the skill set required to bring the book to glorious life as a movie. We think he will be an excellent steward of Stephenie Meyer’s vision.”

“I am honored to have been entrusted with shepherding NEW MOON from the page to the screen,” said Weitz. “The extraordinary world that Stephenie has created has millions of fans, and it will be my duty to protect on their behalf the characters, themes and story they love. Weitz previously penned ABOUT A BOY, which led to an Academy Award Nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2002, and adapted and directed THE GOLDEN COMPASS (2007), which was nominated for two Academy Awards and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Additionally, Weitz co-wrote the 1998 animated film ANTZ and went on to produce the major box office success AMERICAN PIE and executive produced the film’s two theatrical sequels. Weitz also produced IN GOOD COMPANY starring Dennis Quaid and Topher Grace and executive produced AMERICAN DREAMZ starring Hugh Grant, Dennis Quaid and Mandy Moore.

In NEW MOON, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black. Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested. Production on NEW MOON is scheduled to begin in the coming months and the studio is planning to release the film towards the end of 2009 or early 2010.

Feig will oversee NEW MOON for the studio along with Summit Entertainment’s Director of Production Gillian Bohrer.

Weitz is represented by WMA and by Alex Kohner of Morris, Yorn, Barnes & Levine.
