MTV: ‘The Twilight Sage: Eclipse’ Soundtrack: Who Will Make The Cut?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"Adam Lambert, Muse, Paramore and more discuss whether or not they will have their tunes included in the next installment of Stephenie Meyer’s franchise.

By Jocelyn Vena

When it comes to the “Twilight Saga,” the soudtracks are almost as anticipated as the films themselves. And with the “Eclipse” soundtrack set for release on June 8, many fans are wondering which artists made the cut.

Adam Lambert had hoped that his song “Suburban Decay” could find a home on the soundtrack. He told MTV News that it could be the perfect tune to further elaborate the love story between Bella and Jacob. “It’s a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home on a soundtrack or something … maybe ‘Twilight,’ ” he said. “It just didn’t quite fit [in my album]. It’s very theatrical. … It’s very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture.”

Like Lambert, Brooklyn, New York, band Care Bears on Fire would love to get their song on the soundtrack. “Oh my God! It would sound awesome,” bandmate Izzy said. “[It would sound] vampire-y, duh — or werewolf-y, depending. I’d kind of like to be vampire. I feel like that’s more our sound.”

And while these artists are hoping they’ll have their shot, Muse have already hinted that after appearances on the first twol films’ soundtracks, they may take up space on the third installment as well. “It’s great to have the feeling of being a new band again in so many people’s eyes or minds … we might even do something for the third one,” drummer Dominic Howard said.

“['Eclipse' director David Slade is] kind of a friend of ours ’cause he directed about three or four of our videos for the second album, and he’s a really great video director,” Howard further explained. “I know he did that really great kind of sick horror [film '30 Days of Night'] which was a bit of a vampire/zombie vibe, wasn’t it? So I think he’s a great director, and he’s quite a funny character as well. So, yeah, we might do something for him as well.”

MTV: ‘Eclipse ‘Re-Shoots Explained By Studio

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "Eclipse" Summit Entertainment rep says ‘very little’ had to be re-shot for the third film in the ‘Twilight’ franchise.

By Larry Carroll

Early Wednesday, reports of “Eclipse” re-shoots had Twilighters running around like Chicken Little, concerned that the sky may be falling on their beloved Edward and Bella. Later in the day, the studio responded to the rumors.

“The re-shoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films,” a studio representative told the Web site Gossip Cop on Wednesday afternoon, downplaying the severity of the additional scenes while conceding that they were indeed scheduled to occur — often a bad sign with a feature film only two months from release. A rep for the studio confirmed the Gossip Cop statement to MTV News.

Adding that “very little” actually needs to be re-shot, the studio rep then went on to tell the site that the scenes will not involve key moments between Edward and Bella, nor the much-anticipated epic battles. “None of the meadow or action scenes are being re-shot,” explained the source while simultaneously shooting down rumors that director David Slade was encountering artistic differences with the studio.

People: New Moon Director Promises Eclipse Will Be ‘Steamy’

New Moon Director Promises Eclipse Will Be 'Steamy' Moon Director Promises Eclipse Will Be ‘Steamy’

By Michelle Tauber

Team Jacob, hold on to your sleeping bags.

Chris Weitz, who directed New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, says he has read the script for this summer’s third installment, Eclipse – and that one scene in particular is a scorcher.

“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”

In Eclipse’s fan-favorite “tent scene,” – spoiler alert! – a freezing Bella, who is on the run from evil vamp Victoria, gets a warm-up from werewolf Jacob when he squeezes into her sleeping bag – while a jealous Edward looks on. The movie will open June 30.

Weitz also says he is eager to see Edward’s vampire “parents,” played by Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli, sink their teeth into Eclipse’s more intense action.

MTV:’Eclipse’ Star Kirsten Prout Discusses Her ‘Really Dark’ Role

Kristen ProutI’ve never played a villain in my entire career,’ ‘Twilight’ newcomer explains.

By Jocelyn Vena

While fans eagerly await the June release of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” one of the film’s stars, Kirsten Prout, is opening up about joining the cast for the third film in the franchise. She plays Lucy in the film, the vampire who turns Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) into a vampire. And she says she enjoyed getting to embrace her inner bad girl for the film.

“I’ve always been on the good side. I’ve never played a villain in my entire career. I’m the girl next door, or the girl who helps out, or the girl that makes an innocent escape. For once, I got to look all innocent and have that angelic quality, and then, all of a sudden, turn into something really dark,” Prout, who starred on the TV series “Kyle XY,” told Iesb.net. “That was fun for me. That was the first villain that I’ve ever played.”

Like Rathbone’s onscreen sister, Rosalie, played by Nikki Reed, Prout gets in on the backstory action in the movie as well. “Without revealing too much, Lucy is one of the vampires that turns Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone. Jasper gets turned while he is an officer, and I’m one of the vampires that causes Jasper to be turned during his military career,” Prout added. “Lucy appears to be an innocent little victim, and then she turns into something a lot more sinister.”

OK! Magazine: Twilight Saga: New Moon’s Charlie Bewley Says ‘Eclipse’ Will Be ‘Dark And Vicious’

Twilight star Charlie Bewley speaks to NIKKI BARR about just how different the third film, Eclipse, will be

NEW Moon star Charlie Bewley says the third film in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, is going to be very dark.

Charlie Bewley, who plays Volturi vampire Demetri in Twilight Saga: New Moonand Eclipse, says the next installment is set to be very different than the first two films.

Speaking exclusively to OK.co.uk, Charlie revealed that director David Slade is going to add a nasty tone to the vampire love story.

He told us: “David is a master of mood. Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious. You get to see the brutal nature of vampires and what they are really capable of, which is something we haven’t really seen in the first two movies.”

And the star told us David works very differently to New Moon director Chris Weitz.

He said: “They are very different directors. David understands what each scene needs [to create the dark mood] – absolute fine tuning. He might stop the scene halfway through and just tweak something before saying: ‘Go back, say that word again and I want you to put the emphasis on that’.

“It’s very controlled and when I was on set I found myself not being able to be as theatrically elaborate as I was with Chris’ film. But that’s exactly why David has been brought on board - to make this a more real film. Eclipse is going to be more real.”

But Charlie says Chris was happy to let the stars develop the characters themselves while filming New Moon.

He added: “Chris is someone who is massively organised in his work and he is meticulous in his preparation towards something, purely because the stuff he does is on such a grand scale and it was with New Moon.

“He scouted out Montepulciano [the village in Tuscany used for the clock tower scene in New Moon], they visited every single village in Italy to find out the best place to shoot this thing and they got it just right.

MTV: ‘Eclipse’ Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

It might not hit theaters till next year, but we’re bringing you all the vital details early!

By Larry Carroll

Nowadays, “New Moon” is tearing apart box-office records like a Cullen feasting on a freshly killed deer. With the “Twilight” sequel nabbing the advance-sales record, the biggest single-day record and the highest-grossing midnight showings of all time, fans have to wonder: Can this franchise get any bigger? Fortunately, they only have to wait seven months to get the answer.

Many of the saga’s stars have cited “Eclipse” as their favorite of Stephenie Meyer’s novels, and with “30 Days of Night” filmmaker David Slade at the helm, it seems likely to be a very distinctive entry into the blockbuster series. With that in mind (and since we’re always on top of the latest “Twilight” news) we wanted to bring you our cheat sheet for “Eclipse” a little bit early to give you one-stop shopping for all the latest details on what could possibly be the biggest film of 2010.

MTV: ‘New Moon’ Director Chris Weitz Hasn’t Seen ‘Eclipse’ Footage

‘I’m excited to see finished stuff from ‘Eclipse’ rather than anything in progress,’ director says.

By Terri Schwartz

With filming on “Eclipse” wrapping up, we couldn’t resist asking “New Moon” director Chris Weitz whether he had seen any of the footage from next summer’s blockbuster. He hadn’t, he said, because he’s been busy working hard to bring fans “New Moon,” which hits theaters in less than a month. Surprisingly, he said he didn’t really want to see the footage yet.

“As a fan and a filmmaker, I’m excited to see finished stuff from ‘Eclipse’ rather than anything in progress,” Weitz said. “When you see works in progress, there’s always some guy standing in front of some big green curtain, and it’s all terribly disappointing. You really want to see the good stuff once it’s all finished.”

After “New Moon” was finished filming , Summit Entertainment announced that David Slade would be directing “Eclipse.” Weitz said he had some early chats with Slade to let him know what “New Moon” was going to look like and how he had filmed the story, and then let Slade decide how he wanted to film the series’ third installment.

“It was like the transition team, so I could kind of let him know where things are going,” Weitz said. “The transfer of power was very successful. The transition teams coordinated extremely well.”

Twilight Examiner: ‘Eclipse’ Filming Details Are Sparse, But Still There

Recently, several updates from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse filming have made their way to the surface - thanks to the undying efforts of a few knowledgeable area natives.

The first came in the form of David Slade’s faithful twittering, where he issued this Twitpic along with a note. Said Slade, “Shooting in punishing rain, night shoots throw you into pseudo jet lag.” Later, Slade clarified that said “rain is coming from a giant rain machine, but still, none the less brutal to work in.”

VancityAllie, a blogger who (alongside Malicious Mandy) has been scoping out the Eclipse set pretty regularly, recounting the makings of this rain-based madness with photographs of what she then “believe[d] to be a rain machine.”

Later, she stated that “I believe filming will take place in the alleyway nearby. Lots of old props are being set up… very grunge, urban items like trash cans and garbage littering the  street. They were also seen painting graffiti and other enhancements to add to the set.”

Some of the prior blogs by Mandy recounted scenes like “when they were at Bella’s house filming “Edward was yelling at Jacob for kissing Bella” and after about 15 takes they wrapped.”

MTV: ‘Eclipse’ Will Have David Slade’s ‘Darker Sensibility,’ Screenwriter Says

‘Twilight’ scribe Melissa Rosenberg confirms that the director is putting his own stamp on the franchise.

By Jocelyn Vena

If Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg can spill anything about what fans can expect from “Eclipse,” it’s that they can expect it to be dark and gory. And for fans of director David Slade, not to mention people who’ve read “Eclipse,” this should be completely unsurprising.

“David has a darker sensibility, so it clicks,” Rosenberg told E! Online. “The story has a slightly darker tone. I mean, it goes into a full-out battle, so it is darker in the nature of what it is. David was the perfect director for it.”

Slade, who follows Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke in the director’s chair for the franchise, may be putting his slant on the story, but fans will still find common ground between “Eclipse” and the other two flicks already shot in the “Twilight Saga.” “They have the continuity of having the same writers and same actors, but the directors put their own stamp on it,” Rosenberg added. “They’ll be similar, but very different.”

Rosenberg’s comments about the film echo what stars Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner have shared with MTV News about what the “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night” director has in mind for “Eclipse.”

Twilight Examiner: Justin Chon Talks ‘Eclipse’, David Slade Tweets, And Edi Gathegi Makes The Cover Of Fangoria

A couple of updates from The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have been making waves today.

Twilight ExaminerAmanda Bell

Firstly, actor Justin Chon (who portrays, Eric Yorkie, a “human” in the Twilight series) had an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin, where he talked about Eclipse and director David Slade. According to that interview, Chon expects that the entire film will tend toward a darker side - an opinion with which his co-stars Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene have also agreed - because of the change in “mood” and process during this time around in filming.

David Slade, on the other hand, has been keeping his tweets a bit light and frothy over the past few months, and last night’s was no exception.
