When you think about “Twilight” and the soon-to-release “New Moon,” there are plenty of words that come to mind — but they probably don’t include “big hugs” and “sexual white chocolate.” Well, that’s about to change.

A year ago at this time, Twilighters all over the world were counting down the days until they could finally see Edward and Bella on the big screen. And one of their favorite time-passers was a series we ran called “Twilight Stars Answer Fans’ Burning Questions.” Now, with “New Moon” just around the corner, it’s time to reignite the flame.

Once again, we’ve taken the questions that fans posted on MTV.com, the MTV Movies Blog and Hollywood Crush straight to the “Twilight Saga” stars. Some are serious, some are funny, and more than a few are, well, perhaps a bit too personal. But, once again, Stephenie Meyer’s brave thespians have risen to the challenge with honesty and openness and reminded us why the fanbase loves them so much.

A couple of updates from The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have been making waves today.

Firstly, actor Justin Chon (who portrays, Eric Yorkie, a “human” in the Twilight series) had an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin, where he talked about Eclipse and director David Slade. According to that interview, Chon expects that the entire film will tend toward a darker side - an opinion with which his co-stars Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene have also agreed - because of the change in “mood” and process during this time around in filming.

David Slade, on the other hand, has been keeping his tweets a bit light and frothy over the past few months, and last night’s was no exception.

As any Twilighter knows, vampires sparkle in the sunlight as though they have diamonds embedded in their skin. “Twight” author Stephenie Meyer’s vampires do at least. That’s the one big regret “New Moon” actor Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent, has as his character bids farewell to the series. I’m not going to spoil it for those who haven’t read the book, but suffice to say that Laurent isn’t in any condition to come to the party in “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn.”

The actor, who appeared in New Jersey this weekend for an official Summit/Creation Entertainment “Twilight” convention, is nonetheless happy about his work in the first two movies and thankful for the time he’s had. “Honestly, perspective,” he said. “I’m happy I’m in ‘Twilight.’ I’m happy I made it to ‘New Moon.’ Things could be worse.”

SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT STARTS PRODUCTION ON THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON 

Los Angeles, CA April 15, 2009 — Principal photography has begun on Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, it was announced today by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. Academy Award-nominee Chris Weitz (THE GOLDEN COMPASS, ABOUT A BOY) is the director. NEW MOON is filming on locations in Vancouver, BC and Tuscany, Italy.

Also rejoining the movie are Ashley Greene as Alice, Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Kellan Lutz as Emmett, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Edi Gathegi as Laurent, Rachelle Lafevre as Victoria and Billy Burke as Charlie Swan.

New cast members include the legendary Volturi, a venerable coven of vampires who weigh and impose the laws of the vampire world, as well as two new members of the Quileute Indian Nation. The Volturi include Charlie Bewley as Demetri, Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius, Daniel Cudmore as Felix, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, all Volturi enforcers. Dakota Fanning plays Jane, a high ranking and powerful Volturi member and Cameron Bright is Alec, her brother. Noot Seer plays Volturi member Heidi. Michael Sheen plays Aro, the Volturi leader. Graham Greene appears as Harry Clearwater, Quileute tribal leader and old friend of Bella’s father Charlie. Tinsel Korey is Emily, the fiancé of Sam Uley.

In NEW MOON, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and she finds her loyalties tested.

Jamie Campbell Bower was last seen in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd” and is the lead singer of the band The Darling Buds. Daniel Cudmore played Colossus in the “X-Men” films, “X2″ and “X-Men: The Last Stand.” Dakota Fanning was last seen in Summit Entertainment’s sci-fi thriller “Push” and provided the lead voice in the animated feature “Coraline.” Graham Greene earned an Academy Award nomination for his work in “Dances With Wolves,” and has appeared in such films as “The Green Mile,” “Die Hard: With A Vengeance” and “Transamerica.” Chrisopher Heyerdahl has appeared in such films as “The Chronicles of Riddick,” “Catwoman” and “Blade: Trinity.” Tinsel Korey has worked on numerous films and television shows, from “Into The West” to “The Lookout,” opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She is also a singer/songwriter. Vancouver-born Noot Seer began modeling at age 13 and has lived in New York, Barbados, Guyana and New Zealand. She was a champion horseback rider prior to her modeling career. She made her film debut in the comedy “Head Over Heels,” starring Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Monica Potter. Michael Sheen last starred opposite Frank Langella in Ron Howard’s film “Frost/Nixon,” and played Britain’s Prime Minister Tony Blair to Helen Mirren’s Queen Elizabeth in “The Queen.” The award-winning actor was recently seen in “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.”

Twilighters Trip the Bite Fantastic for DVD Launch

It was pretty easy to tell who had been bitten by the Twilight bug.

Hundreds of Bella and Edward fanciers—most wearing black and some sporting makeshift fangs and cloaks seemingly left over from the last Harry Potter premiere—gathered outside the Borders at Penn Plaza in Manhattan in honor of deleted scenes, a making-of documentary and some musing from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Aka, just some of the features to be found on the special-edition, two-disc Twilight DVD.

SANTA MONICA, California — On a random Tuesday at Santa Monica High School, groups of teenagers shuffle into the auditorium and find their seats. It’s the type of moment that plays out every day across schools nationwide, but something is different: These students wear black T-shirts, point their cell phone cameras toward the stage and hold up signs declaring their love for Edward Cullen.

They’ve assembled on this day to study a very special curriculum — within moments, they erupt in cheers for professors Catherine Hardwicke and Edi Gathegi.

SANTA MONICA, California — The “Twilight” movie might not be in 3-D, but as it arrives to DVD and Blu-ray on Saturday, don’t be surprised if you find one of its stars jumping off the screen and into the room with you.

“I’m not usually the kind of guy that would go to [a fan event] or try to sneak into one,” actor Edi Gathegi said recently, revealing plans that will undoubtedly leave some fans shrieking this weekend. “But I’m going to step outside of my comfort zone.”
